On a treble-clef staff, each higher line or space moves to the next letter name, while the note head tells how many beats the pitch lasts.

What your child will figure out

  • Name treble-clef line notes using the upward E–G–B–D–F pattern.
  • Name treble-clef space notes using FACE and transfer between adjacent lines and spaces.
  • Distinguish pitch name from quarter- and half-note duration.
  • Read and tap a simple four-beat rhythm, then continue in adaptive generated practice.

The levels

  1. Wake the line bird

Predict G from its second-line perch, hear it sing, observe the E–G line climb, and explain the position evidence.

  2. Find the space singer

Predict C from the third space, observe FACE, and explain why spaces—not height alone—name the note.

  3. Cross the whole canopy

Move between lines and spaces on the full staff and explain that every step advances one letter.

  4. Hold the golden note

Keep pitch name A separate from the half note's two-beat duration.

  5. Lead the dawn chorus

Transfer staff reading and note values into a new quarter–quarter–half four-beat tap-along.

Ready when they are.
