Number Friends

What your child will figure out

• Build amounts from 1 to 5 by adding one treat for each count.
• Match a visible group of treats to the numeral that represents its amount.
• Transfer numeral–amount matching to amounts up to 10 and a new kind of treat.

The levels

1. Apple friends 1–3

   Build one, two, then three apples to match the large numeral.

2. Apple friends 4–5

   Keep one-to-one count while building four and five.

3. How many friends?

   Choose the numeral that represents each shown group.

4. Pear party to 10

   Transfer the same idea to seven and ten new treats.
