A program is an exact sequence of instructions: a robot follows precisely what each instruction says, in order, so changing the order or a turn changes the result.

What your child will figure out

  • Build and run an ordered sequence of forward and turn instructions to reach a goal.
  • Predict a robot's exact endpoint by reading a program from first instruction to last.
  • Interpret left and right turns relative to the robot's current orientation.
  • Debug wrong turns in a novel maze using the execution trace as evidence.

The levels

  1. Straight to the signal

Build an ordered forward sequence, predict its endpoint, and reach the signal.

  2. Read the program

Read a locked mixed sequence and predict the endpoint before running it.

  3. The wrong turn

Observe a wrong-turn bug, then repair it using orientation and trace evidence.

  4. Canyon transfer

Debug two wrong turns in a broken program on a novel obstacle map.

Ready when they are.
