A homeschool co-teacher for maths and science.

One parent can’t be maths, science and geography at once. Ako teaches those hands-on — 119 interactive lessons with a voice tutor inside — and writes you a record of every week. Works alongside any NZ home education approach — and the exemption paperwork stays yours.

What Ako carries for you

🧮Maths (48 lessons)

Fractions, ratios, algebra, geometry, probability — taught by building and predicting, not drilling.

🔬Science (39 lessons)

Volcanoes, atoms, orbits, the human body, food webs — every one a small experiment your child runs.

🗺️Geography & logic

World maps, country shapes, computing and puzzle lessons round out the week.

📝The records

A written note every week per child: what they did, what stuck, what’s next. Filed in your inbox.

A tutor, not a worksheet generator

Ako is a voice AI tutor inside every lesson. He watches what your child builds, asks for predictions, listens to their reasoning, and adapts difficulty on the spot — the part of teaching that’s hardest to do while you’re also making lunch.

MathsFraction Kitchen

Fractions describe covered equal parts of one whole; equivalent fractions cover the same space, and equal-sized wholes make unlike fractions directly comparable.

Earth ScienceVolcano Inside

Heat and expanding trapped gas build pressure in a magma chamber; that pressure forces magma up a vent, and more stored pressure produces a bigger eruption.

Life ScienceBody Explorer

Animal bodies contain fitted layers—skin, muscles, organs, and skeleton—and each layer has a different job while working as one connected body.

Questions homeschool families ask

Is Ako a full homeschool curriculum?

Ako is the hands-on maths and science half of your week — interactive lessons with a voice tutor, not workbooks. Most families run it alongside their reading and writing programme. We'd rather be honest: if you need an accredited all-subjects curriculum, Ako isn't that.

Does it keep records?

Yes — automatically. Every week Ako emails you what each child worked on, what they mastered, and what needs practice. Those notes double as records for your exemption reviews.

How much of my day does it take?

None of your teaching time. Ako is the teacher inside each lesson — your child talks to him by voice while you work with another child or get an hour back. Sessions run 10–20 minutes.

What ages does it cover?

Built for ages 7–12 (Years 3–8), and younger siblings from 4 can play the early-years lessons. Ako adapts how he talks to each child's age.

Can more than one child use it?

Yes — one subscription covers up to 3 kids, each with their own progress, their own difficulty level, and their own line in your weekly note.

Try it before you plan around it.

One free lesson, no account. Then $25/month for up to 3 kids — cancel anytime.
